Lieutenant Governor John Garamendi Joins UAPD Doctors In Support of Public Option

More than fifty UAPD doctors joined Lieutenant Governor John Garamendi in speaking in favor of preserving a strong public option in federal health care legislation.  Dr. Debbie Brown, Dr. John Wu, Dr. Ronald Bortman, and Dr. David Kuhlen joined UAPD President Dr. Stuart Bussey at the podium, where each drew on their own experiences as a doctor to make an argument in favor of the public option.  Sheryl Glass, a person without health insurance who suffers from a chronic illness, spoke about the impact a strong public option would have in her life.  Dr. Bussey ended the press conference by writing a prescription for a strong public option, and asking Garamendi to deliver it to Congress after the November elections.
