Loma Linda Resident and Fellow Physicians Seek to Form Union

Loma Linda, CA — On Feb. 13, 883 resident and fellow physicians and interns from Loma Linda University Health filed to form a union under the auspices of the Union of American Physicians & Dentists (UAPD), citing poor working conditions, low wages, excessive patient workloads and unaddressed mental health needs.

The filing joins resident physician unionizing efforts across the country, including at University of Buffalo and University of Pennsylvania.

Loma Linda doctors held a press conference on Friday, Feb. 24, where they were joined by UAPD President Dr. Stuart Bussey and former California State Senators Bob Hertzberg and Dr. Richard Pan.
