BU324 Urgent Escalation Bargaining Meeting

Members,

In our last town hall, we discussed the status of bargaining. We have been bargaining in good faith with the County for the past two years and provided them with a complete set of proposals. Unfortunately, the County rejected most of our proposals.

On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, our membership took action and went to the Board of Supervisors meeting. That day, the Board of Supervisors passed a motion to conduct a study on the feasibility of providing all physicians with Megaflex. The study concluded it would cost the County $89 million to provide physicians with Megaflex. Therefore, the departments did not see Megaflex as feasible.

Since then, we have continued to lobby and identify our bargaining priorities:

  • Improved benefits
  • Improved salaries
  • Improved bonuses

With these priorities in mind, your bargaining team will continue to exchange proposals with management in the upcoming weeks. We need to escalate and let the County know we mean business.

Attend our next information town hall on August 23, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
