Sacramento, CA — Last week, the Union of American Physicians and Dentists (UAPD) bargaining committee for Bargaining Unit 16 (BU16) completed two full days of proposal writing sessions to prepare for upcoming contract negotiations with the State of California.
The bargaining committee will present its initial package to the State during the first bargaining session on March 13. Key priorities for UAPD’s BU16 members include securing competitive wages, maintaining professional autonomy, and strengthening workplace protections for the physicians, dentists, and podiatrists employed at state-run facilities.
“Our union is fully prepared to fight for a strong contract in this year’s crucial negotiations,” Dr. Stuart Bussey, UAPD President, said. “It’s crucial that we come together to protect our civil service positions and secure a contract that reflects the value our members bring to California’s healthcare system. Every member’s voice strengthens our position at the bargaining table.”
UAPD will provide regular updates throughout the bargaining process.
