Standing Strong for Our Profession and Our Patients this National Doctors’ Day

March 30, 2026

To Our Doctors,

This National Doctors’ Day, we recognize not only the dedication you bring to your work, but the critical role you play in holding our healthcare system together during a time of profound uncertainty.

We are living through an unprecedented attack on healthcare. Proposed funding cuts are putting strain on the public and private healthcare facilities where you deliver care and with them, the services your patients rely on. Now more than ever, the doctor-patient relationship is vital to continuity of care and we must defend it.

At UAPD, we know that protecting patient care means protecting the conditions under which you deliver it. It means ensuring you have the proper resources, staffing, and stability needed to provide the quality of care your patients deserve. We are fighting to ensure that funding cuts do not become an excuse to erode your working conditions, reduce your compensation, or compromise the resources you need to deliver care.

The work you do has never mattered more. Your voices are essential, not only as doctors, but as healthcare advocates for your patients and communities.

The UAPD stands with you. Together, we will protect our profession and our patients.

In solidarity,

Stuart Bussey, MD, JD

UAPD President
