On December 1, Worksite Leaders met with representatives of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services to discuss health care reform, classification, contracting out and others issues affecting the bargaining unit. Health care reform has created changes on the county level, so UAPD is working to ensure that these changes do not negatively affect doctors.
UAPD leaders also requested copies of all County contracts for physician services to examine whether these jobs should be done by permanent doctors. There will be regular monthly meetings between UAPD and management, and regular updates will be provided via the newsletter.
