UAPD Helps Collect Signatures for the Petition of No Confidence

Silverdale, WA — In partnership with our sister union, UFCW 3000, UAPD’s organizing team and staff in Washington attended an event in support of concerned community members and hospital workers calling for the resignation of the leadership at St. Michael Medical Center.

With the nearest hospital approximately 50 miles away, it is the only medical facility in the region serving residents in Kitsap County and the Olympic Peninsulas. For years, leadership has taken no action to address the hospital’s staffing challenges and it has directly affected patient care. In early October, a nurse had to call a nonemergency line at Kitsap County to ask emergency responders to come to the emergency department to help patients.

The health and livelihood of residents in Silverdale and surrounding communities is at stake. Take action now by signing the Petition of No Confidence.
