Oakland, CA — Doug Chiappetta, M.A., UAPD Executive Director, met with Assemblymember Mia Bonta to discuss the introduction of a bill protecting Alameda Health System physicians from having their roles contracted out in 2024. Dr. Milton L. Lorig, M.D., Dr. Nakul Varshney, M.D., and George Osborn, Contract Advocate, were also present to propose the bill and discuss the effects that contracting out physicians will have on patient outcomes and community health.
