In a significant victory for psychiatrists, the Union of American Physicians and Dentists (UAPD) has reached a settlement with San Joaquin County Behavioral Health Services (BHS) after filing an unfair labor practice charge against BHS for unilaterally changing the incentive pay formula for UAPD-represented psychiatrists in 2020.
This settlement applies to all psychiatrists employed by BHS between March 2020 and July 1, 2022. Eligible employees will receive an email with detailed instructions from the UAPD on how to claim their settlement payment.
Please follow the instructions in the email. The deadline for submission is May 17, 2025. Any eligible employee who does not submit their signed waiver by the deadline will forfeit their settlement amount.
