The Union of American Physicians and Dentists (UAPD) has joined healthcare professionals and community members in Ventura County in endorsing a petition to protect patients by keeping ICE out of hospitals and clinics.
Healthcare is a human right. Our hospitals and clinics must remain places of safety and healing—not intimidation. No patient, regardless of immigration status, should ever be forced to choose between seeking care and risking their safety.
Our patients deserve dignity, trust, and compassionate care without the threat of immigration enforcement interfering with their health and well-being. As physicians, our duty is to heal. Allowing immigration enforcement to target people in hospitals undermines the very foundation of healthcare.
