Physicians, dentists, and psychiatrists represented by the Union of American Physicians and Dentists (UAPD) have ratified a new three-year contract with Alameda Health System (AHS), securing meaningful economic gains, improved benefits, and important changes to compensation structures to achieve pay parity for our members.
The ratified agreement reflects months of strategic bargaining and the collective strength of UAPD members advocating for fair pay and equity across classifications.
Wage Increases, Adjustments, and Differentials
Under the new contract, all classifications will receive a 12% salary increase over the course of the three-year contract, strengthening compensation and helping retain experienced providers at AHS. The contract also includes targeted wage adjustments and differentials to address equity across classifications and recognition of leadership roles:
- 4% wage adjustment for physician classifications in the first year
- 12% wage adjustment for dental classifications in the first year
- 10% wage differential for lead dentists
Improved Benefits
In addition to wage increases, the contract secured improved benefits and program changes:
- Annual continuing medical education (CME) stipend increased to $4,000
- Life insurance benefit increased to $50,000
- Elimination of the Ambulatory Incentive Program
Sustaining Quality Patient Care Through Fair Contracts
These gains are the direct result of unity from our members and their collective bargaining efforts. By standing together, UAPD providers have secured stronger pay, improved benefits, and clearer compensation standards supporting long-term workforce stability and quality patient care at Alameda Health System.
